After starting the season with four straight losses, the Falmouth High School boys’ golf team has turned things around a bit. The Clippers scored a 315-319 win over St. John Paul II High School at Woods Hole Golf Club on Wednesday, September 29, to improve to 2-4 on the year. The win went down to the wire, as the scores of the two teams’ seventh men were required to break a tie.
Eric Chicoine, playing in the seventh spot, proved to be the winning difference for Falmouth. Chicoine carded a round of 48, which bested a 52 by his equivalent from the Lions’ roster.
FHS was led by Max April, who had a rock-solid round of 39 for the Maroon and White. Bud Driscoll was next with a 44 and Nate Hopwood finished with a 45. Chris Shanahan and Connor Hennigan each scored rounds of 46 and Kyle Souza carded a 47.
