The Town of Falmouth, Department of Public Works, will accept sealed bids for:  

Coonamessett River Restoration and 

John Parker Road Culvert Replacement

Bids will be received in the Office of the Town Engineer, Falmouth Public Works, 416 Gifford Street, Falmouth, MA 02540 on or before the following time and date: 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019 at which time and place the Bids will be publicly opened and read.

Bidding Documents will be available after 8:00 A.M on Thursday, July 25, 2019 and may be examined and/or obtained at the office of the Engineering Division of the Department of Public Works, 416 Gifford Street, Falmouth, MA 02540.

Bidders requesting Contract Documents by mail shall include an additional non-refundable check payable to the Town of Falmouth in the amount of $15.00 per set, to cover costs of handling and mailing.  

A Mandatory Pre-Bid meeting will be held to inspect the site on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. Interested Contractors shall meet at John Parker Road, at the Coonamessett River in Falmouth, MA. 

General Bids must be accompanied by a bid deposit.  The amount of the bid deposit shall be an amount of 5 percent (5%) of the Bidder's maximum total bid price, payable to the Town of Falmouth, MA. The bid security will be retained until the successful bidder has executed the contract with the Town, whereupon it will be returned. If the bidder fails to execute the contract within 30 calendar days of the Notice of Award, the Town may annul the award and the bid security will be forfeited.

Bidders may not withdraw their Bids for a period of 120 calendar days, after the actual date of the opening of the Bids.

The successful Bidder must furnish a 100 percent (100%) Construction Performance Bond and a 100 percent (100%) Construction Payment Bond with a surety company licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Wage rates for this Project are subject to the minimum wage rates as per M.G.L. Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D inclusive. 

The bidding and award of this Contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M.

The Town reserves the right to waive any informality in or reject any and all Bids, or to accept the Bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Falmouth.

The project consists of installing Tennis and Pickle ball Courts at Lawrence School in Falmouth, MA. The contract will be awarded to the lowest price responsible bidder and in accordance with the contract documents. The price shall be lump sum and include all mobilization, material, labor,

installation, restoration, and incidental work to complete a safe and operable Tennis and Pickleball Court.

Bidding Documents will be available after 8:00 A.M. on Thursday July 25th, 2019 and may be examined and/or obtained at the office of the Engineering Division of the Department of Public Works, 416 Gifford Street, Falmouth, MA 02540. Public Hearing Notice

Adjusting the Historic District Boundaries

Code of Falmouth Chapter 36: Historic District Bylaw

In accordance with the provisions of the Code of Falmouth Chapter 36: Falmouth Historic District bylaw, the Falmouth Historical Commission shall hold a public hearing on August 14, 2019 at 5:00 pm, in the Radcliffe Room at the Woods Hole Library, 581 Woods Hole Road, Woods Hole, MA, 02543, and on August 22, 2019 at 5:00 pm in the Hermann Room at the Falmouth Public Library, 300 Main Street,  Falmouth, MA, 02540, to hear community support or concern regarding a proposed adjustment to the Historic District Boundaries.  The Commission is considering adjusting the Historic District boundaries in all seven (7) districts: North Falmouth; West Falmouth; Quissett; Woods Hole; Falmouth Village; Davisville and Waquoit. This adjustment will provide the Commission with jurisdiction over the enitre parcel found in one of the seven mapped districts affecting 1,019 properties. This adjustment will also remove 123 properties from the Town’s local historic districts.
