A pickup truck rolled onto its passenger-side door after colliding head-on with a van on Algonquin Avenue in Mashpee Tuesday, October 26, around 10 AM. The driver of the pickup truck was unconscious when the fire department arrived at the scene.

Firefighters extricated the driver by removing the glass from the truck’s front windshield and back window, then cutting the roof off the vehicle. By the time the driver was removed from the vehicle he had regained some consciousness.

The truck driver was transported to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment. The van driver was treated and released.

Both Mashpee fire and police personnel responded to the scene. Police officers blocked off parts of Route 151, diverting traffic onto Old Barnstable Road while firefighters worked to rescue the truck driver.

A police investigation is ongoing.
