Last year, Rodney Collins, formed a "Inclusion and Diversity" committee. One of the committee's stated goals is to "Strive for a community characterized by the values of inclusion."

The Town has a dismal record of employing people of Color. This is in spite of the fact that Mashpee has one of the highest percentage of minority residents of any Town on the Cape.

Very recently, Mr. Collins filled a position created last year at Town Meeting. This was an opportunity to show the Town is serious about inclusion and diversity, but he failed.

I think at the least, Mr. Collins should tell us what effort he made, if any, to recruit candidates who are not from a favored ethnic group.

Town Government should represent everyone who lives and pays taxes here and right now, it does not.
