On Monday, Andrew R. Gottlieb was elected chairman of the Mashpee Board of Selectmen.
Carol A. Sherman had served as the chairman for the past year. After winning reelection in May, Ms. Sherman did not seek the board's lead position.
Mr. Gottlieb, who was the chairman prior to his reelection in 2017, said that Ms. Sherman did a fantastic job shepherding the board under her tenure. He thanked her for bringing important issues to the table for discussion and bringing the board together, and said that he hopes to follow in her footsteps.
Without any discussion, the board voted unanimously to elect Mr. Gottlieb as the chairman, John J. Cahalane as the vice chairman, and John J. Cotton as the clerk.
