A Mashpee Middle-High School student tested positive for COVID-19, according to an statement from Superintendent Patricia M. DeBoer on Thursday, November 19.
This is the fifth student within the Mashpee Public School system to test positive for COVID-19.
"Through contact tracing, there are currently four students identified as close contacts," Ms. DeBoer said. "Their families are receiving communication and guidance. Two staff members are considered to be close contacts at this time, and they have been notified."
Kenneth C. Coombs and Quashnet Elementary schools have not been impacted by the positive case at this time, the statement said.
Ms. DeBoer asked parents to continue to monitor their children for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
She also asked parents not to hesitate to reach out to her or District Nurse Stacey Schakel with questions and concerns.
