Callie K. Peros, 93, of Popponesset Beach died March 24 at Bridges of Mashpee.

She was the wife of Frank P. Peros for 69 years. Her husband died January 24, 2018.

Born in Gloucester, she was the daughter of William and Bessie Kechris. She later lived in Quincy.

Ms. Peros was accomplished at needlework, and taught adult education classes in Watertown, Lexington and Concord, as well as at her home in Mashpee, where she and her husband spent their retirement years. She had a talent for knitting, needlepoint, sewing and crochet. She learned the art of Nantucket basket-making and her completed works were given to family and friends.

She leaves four children, Peter F. Peros and his wife, Vaso Peros, of Mashpee, William J. Peros of Jamaica Plain and Popponesset Beach, David F. Peros and his wife, Kate G. Peros, of Pocasset, and Mercene Ethier and her husband, Jamie Ethier, of Beverly; four grandchildren, Callie Andler, Frank Peros, Christopher Ethier, and Kaitlyn Ethier; two great-granddaughters, Abigail Andler and Alexis Peros; and other family.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Ethel Lagodimos and James Kechris.

A visiting hour will be Saturday, March 30, from 10 to 11 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1130 Falmouth Road in Centerville. After visitation, a funeral Mass will begin at 11 o’clock.

Burial will follow at Great Neck Woods Cemetery in Mashpee.

At the conclusion of the burial, a memorial luncheon will be at the Popponesset Inn.
