Elizabeth E. Cooper, 92, of Mashpee died at home May 9, after suffering a stroke.

She was born in Landsberg, Bavaria, Germany, and given the name Elisabeth Karolina Edeltraud Mayer. She was the first of five daughters born to her parents, Karolina Bihlmeier and Hermann Mayer.

From a young age, she had an artist’s perspective and spontaneity that she utilized in painting, drawing, sewing, gardening, decorating, cooking and dressing. She had a love for animals and nature, and a positive outlook on life and the world.

She immigrated to the United States in 1949 with her then-husband Ernest E. Jausz and daughter Anita, and the young family settled in Erie, Pennsylvania.

She worked at the First National Bank of Erie for 29 years.

In 2010 she moved to Mashpee.

She leaves her children, Anita Makar, Jacqueline Bailey, Taylor Bailey, Deborah Doe and Jonathan Cooper; four grandchildren, Olivia Doe, Emma Doe, Trevor Cooper and Nicholas Cooper; her former husband, Homi Cooper; and two sisters, Christina Weissflog and Waltraud Eisgruber, both of Bavaria, Germany.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and her former husband Ernest E. Jausz.

Services will be private.
