Geraldine A. Orlando, 79, of Mashpee, died unexpectedly on April 1.
She was the wife of Albert J. Orlando and daughter of Russell and Helen Nash.
A native of Brockton, she graduated from Brockton High School, Brockton School of Nursing in 1960 and Bridgewater State College in 1978.
She was a lifelong registered nurse until her retirement. She worked at various hospitals throughout her career from the Brockton area to Cape Cod. She and her husband moved to Mashpee in the mid-1980s.
In the late 1980s, Ms. Orlando served as a water commissioner for one year, according to a Mashpee Enterprise article.
She enjoyed reading, knitting and traveling. She also enjoyed music.
In addition to her husband of 57 years, she leaves their three children, Richard A. Orlando and his wife, Kim A. Orlando, Debra Orlando-Hall and her husband, Michael Hall, and Gina M.Orlando and her husband, Randal Ough, all of Mashpee; four granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; and other family.
Burial will be private and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
