Harvey V. Williamson Jr., 81, of Mashpee died November 22 after an unexpected illness.

He was the widower of Irene Jean (Rapoza) Williamson. They were married for 42 years.

Born in Osterville, he was the son of Harvey V. and Marjorie (Frazier) Williamson.

Mr. Williamson served with the National Guard.

He worked for the phone company for 39 years until his retirement; he also was a call firefighter at the West Falmouth station of Falmouth Fire Department for three decades.

Mr. Williamson was an active member of West Falmouth Methodist Church; and a past member of Falmouth Rod & Gun Club.

He leaves a daughter, Jean Greenwood; four sons, Allan Williamson, Glen Williamson, Scott Williamson and Peter Williamson; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be Friday, December 6, at 11 AM at West Falmouth Methodist Church, 636 West Falmouth Highway.

Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery on Gifford Street in Falmouth.
