Anne Stommes

In Loving Memory: Anne Parker Stommes, 74, of Mashpee, formerly of Framingham, passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital on June 7, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Leon (Lee) Stommes and daughter of the late A. Seymour and Margaret Parker.

Anne graduated from Dana Hall High School in Wellesley, MA and Bennett College in Millbrook, NY. After graduating from Bennet College, she attended Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. She started her career as an administrative assistant in finance before working for Digital equipment/Compaq/HP computers for over 20 years. She also worked for several years as a receptionist at Traditions of Wayland Senior Living until retiring at age 65.

Anne was a parishioner at Christ the King Church in Mashpee and a former member of the Mashpee Garden Club. She also did past volunteer work at the Mashpee Senior Center as well as the COA Thrift Shop. Anne had an interest in the arts and loved flowers, plants, gardening, cooking, and decorating. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband outside the country, including Europe, South Pacific and most recently to the Galapagos Islands. Anne was warm, kind, gentle and considerate having many lifelong friends. Despite having been afflicted with cystic fibrosis, she was always positive and upbeat leading a very active life working, volunteering and being a loving wife, sister, and friend. In 1992 she received a double lung transplant at MGH and was forever grateful to the donor’s family. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.

In addition to her husband Leon of 46 years, Anne is survived by three brothers, Steven Parker and wife Linda of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, David Parker and wife Karen of Claremont, NH, Jim Parker of Sudbury, MA, and five nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Church, 5 Job’s Fishing Rd. Mashpee on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 11:00am. Burial will be private.
