James Bruce Reiffarth Sr., 83, of Mashpee died in his home on September 13.
He was the husband of Margaret (Montgomery) Reiffarth, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.
Born in Boston, he was the son of Norman and Alyce (McNulty) Reiffarth. He was a former resident of Medway.
Mr. Reiffarth had a lengthy career as an inventory control manager for Data General. Additionally, he served in the US Air Force Reserve for many years.
He was a member of the Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals from 2005 to 2015, and enjoyed being involved with the community.
Mr. Reiffarth loved living on Cape Cod and spending time at the ocean. A sociable person, he was especially fond of Thirsty Thursdays on Monomoscoy Island, and dancing to the live music of the BaHa Brothers.
In addition to his wife, he leaves three children, Pamela Ann Leal of Bellingham, James Bruce Reiffarth Jr. of Blackstone and Michelle Alyce Tortelli of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Garrett Tortelli, also of Wauwatosa, James Tortelli of Buena Vista, Colorado, and Brett Tortelli of St. Louis, Missouri; two great-grandchildren; and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Reiffarth.
A celebration of his life will be at a later date.
