John Ernest Keilty of Mashpee died at home on December 13. He was 80.

He was the husband of Sharon E. Keilty, to whom he was married for 53 years.

The son of John and Gladys Keilty, he graduated from Concord High School and served in the US Air Force from 1960 to 1964.

Mr. Keilty worked as a supervisor at General Motors in Framingham for 27 years until his retirement.

His work ethic caused him to never be idle, and he immersed himself in home improvement projects and offered help to others when they needed assistance. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida.

In addition to his wife, he leaves three children, John Keilty of Concord, Rebecca Doty of Texas and Matthew Keilty of Mashpee; eight grandchildren and a great-grandson; and extended family.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 22, at 10 AM at Parish of Christ the King in Mashpee.

Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
