Jonathan Crocker Kennedy of Mashpee died May 25, after living for six years with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. He was 66.
He was the son of the late William and Marion Kennedy.
Mr. Kennedy had a career as an electrical engineer at the former Foxboro Company and its affiliates for 40 years. He received his master’s degree in computer science at Boston University while working full time and raising four children with his wife.
He loved to sing, and as an active member of South Attleboro Assembly of God Mr. Kennedy participated with his tenor voice in all the choir performances there.
He also was an avid outdoorsman, setting for himself the goal of hiking all 48 of the 4,000-foot mountain peaks in New Hampshire. He had hiked 40 of those before he was no longer physically able. He had also enjoyed biking, swimming, playing soccer and sailing, and continued to visit the beach in his wheelchair.
He leaves his wife of 38 years, Cherylann Kennedy; their children and spouses, Barry and Tina Kennedy of Warwick, Rhode Island, Amy and Devyn Wills of Austin, Texas, Shauna and Kevin McMillan of Sewickley, Pennsylvania, and Julie and Matt Neal of Forestdale; six grandchildren; four siblings; and extended family.
Services were Tuesday with burial at Rockhill Cemetery in Foxborough.
