Lorraine Mary (Hausler) Ghibaudi of Mashpee died on Mother’s Day, May 10, at the age of 85.

She was born in New York City and was a graduate of The College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx.

Ms. Ghibaudi had a career as a research scientist at Schering-Plough, Inc. in Kenilworth, New Jersey, for more than three decades. She retired from that position in 2004.

After living for many years in Upper Montclair, New Jersey, she moved to Mashpee 15 years ago.

During her retirement, Ms. Ghibaudi was a volunteer for many organizations.

She was a parishioner at Parish of Christ the King in Mashpee.

She leaves a daughter, Valerie Machinist and her husband, Brian Machinist, of Lexington; two grandchildren, Alexis Machinist and Cameron Machinist, also of Lexington; and a sister, Eleanor Biemer of Mashpee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ottavio Ghibaudi Jr., who died in 1984.

Funeral services were private; entombment followed at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson, New Jersey.
