Mary Anne Snyder, 94, died November 29 at Royal of Cotuit Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Mashpee, following a period of declining health.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of Edward H. and Laura C. (Knapp) Rensing. She was salutatorian of her high school class and a magna cum laude graduate of The College of Mount St. Joseph on the Ohio.
She lived in Cincinnati until marrying Harry J. Snyder. The couple had been married for 40 years at the time of her husband’s death in 1995.
Ms. Snyder lived in Barrington, Rhode Island, for more than 50 years. There, she was a communicant of St. Luke’s Parish and a volunteer for many community organizations. She served on the board of the Community Scholarship Fund of Barrington for 40 years. On her 90th birthday, she was honored with a special scholarship for her four decades of service.
She leaves her daughter, Barbara Martinez and her husband, René Martinez, of Mashpee; two grandchildren, Julie French of Denver, Colorado, and Peter Martinez of Cypress, Texas; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Stephen J. Snyder.
Her funeral service was on Monday, December 7, at St. Mary’s Church in Cincinnati.
