Patricia Alice Lovett Hicks died March 26, at age 88.

She was the daughter of Alice May Washington-Lovett and William Lovett and was predeceased by her brother, Edward Morrison; sister Priscilla Singleton; her husband, Warren Hicks Sr., son Laurie Mark Green; niece Renee Singleton; and a granddaughter, Jerrica DosSantos.

Ms. Hicks leaves three children, Cheryl Lovett Green, George (Chuckie) Green and Guy Green; her cousin, Roland Lovett, and his family; as well as 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 19 stepchildren.

She was born in Boston and grew up in Everett, where she graduated from Everett High School. She was a Boston debutante and was presented to society at the annual cotillion by the Resthaven Junior Charity Club in November 1949.

Ms. Hicks married George Fredrick Green Sr. of Mashpee and moved to Mashpee in 1957. She and her husband had four children while also opening their home to extended family and loved ones. She worked as the administrative assistant for the Mashpee Board of Assessors. She was also the co-owner of the Greenway Inc., which consisted of three businesses: a cleaning company, a school bus company and the Greenway Restaurant.

She served as the chairwoman of the board of trustees at Mashpee Baptist Church. She was active on the women’s auxiliary for the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She volunteered in the Mashpee community, serving on multiple town committees, including the Housing Authority. She also volunteered as a Girl Scout troop leader.

Later in her life, Ms. Hicks married Warren Hicks Sr. Her home on Main Street has remained a focal point for her family and community friends in Mashpee.

A private funeral service and a burial at the Old Meeting House Cemetery in Mashpee was held yesterday.
