Paula Wray

Paula Roche Wray, 87, of Mashpee and North Falmouth died September 13, after a brief illness.

She was widowed by her husband of 53 years, C. Robert Wray, in 2008.

Born in Belmont, she was the daughter of Irene (Shea) Roche and Paul Roche.

After graduating from Belmont High School, she earned her bachelor of arts degree from Salve Regina College. Ms. Wray maintained the friendships made with her classmates from high school and college throughout her life.

Ms. Wray taught elementary school in New Bedford and, later, at St. Francis Xavier School in New Milford, Connecticut, and Villa Duchesne Oak Hill School in St. Louis, Missouri.

For many years she and her husband divided their time between homes in Naples, Florida, and North Falmouth.

She leaves two daughters, Kathanne W. Fowler of West Hartford, Connecticut, and Maura W. Leddy and her husband, John W. Leddy, of Raynham and North Falmouth; several grandchildren, Chesleigh Fowler Pas, Tierney Leddy, Patrick Leddy and Julia Fowler; a great-grandson, Lukas Pas; and extended family.

She was predeceased by two children, Christopher M. Wray in 1997 and Sheila M. Wray in 1966.

Visiting hours are Thursday, September 16, from 4 to 7 PM at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 548  West Falmouth Highway.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 17, at 10 AM at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 481 Quaker Road in North Falmouth, followed by burial at North Falmouth Cemetery.
