Richard A. Wilkey, 85, of Mashpee died September 18 at Royal of Cotuit Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Mashpee.

He was the husband of Marlene G. Wilkey.

The son of William and Sybil Wilkey, he attended Wentworth Institute in Boston.

Mr. Wilkey had a 65-year career as a design builder in areas of Harvard, Boston and Cape Cod.

He was an avid golfer and was the club champion at Quashnet Valley Country Club in 1988.

In addition to his wife, he leaves three sons, William A. Wilkey of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Wesley Charles Wilkey of Harvard, and Daniel G. Wilkey of Alexandria, Virginia; a daughter, Heidi Beberman of Worcester; a sister, Kathryn Wilkey Kimball; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and extended family.

He was predeceased by his sons Wayne R. Wilkey and Kurtis F. Wilkey; and his sister Patricia Wilkey.

A funeral service, followed by burial at Crocker Park Cemetery in Barnstable, took place September 22.
