Roberta Ellen Weston, 64, died at home in Mashpee on June 2. She had also lived in East Falmouth.

She was the daughter of Barbara Ann (Parry) Weston, who died in 2002, and George B. Weston, who died in 2005.

During her youth her father owned and operated The Bourne Mill restaurant in Buzzards Bay from 1946 to 1976, the property that later became Grandma's Restaurant & Pie Shop. Her parents were active with the Cape Cod Association for Retarded Children as well as the Massachusetts Association for Retarded Citizens.

Ms. Weston embraced everyone she encountered and taught them about love and caring. She had a strong memory for those she met and did not hesitate to call out with a greeting when she saw them anywhere. She was known for her infectious smile and her witticisms.

Among the things she loved were swimming, roller coasters and all animals.

For the last 20 years she had shared a home with a friend who was like a sister to her.

She leaves her siblings, Rodney Weston, Laura Gouvalaris, Linda Bagdonas, Julia Eckstrom and Jane Lewis; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family members.

A celebration of her life is planned for Thursday, June 9, from 1 to 3 PM at the Courtyard Restaurant & Pub in Cataumet.
