Sheila G. Pickering, a resident of Mashpee for the past seven years, died November 17. She was 73.

She was the wife of Paul T. Pickering for 52 years.

Born and raised in Rochester, New York, she graduated from Niagara University with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

During her 40-year career Ms. Pickering worked as a pediatric nurse at Rochester General Hospital and, later, at Culver Medical Group.

She volunteered her nursing skills monitoring blood pressure for parishioners at Parish of Christ the King, where she also attended Mass. There she was a member of the Daily Mass Choir and led the Rosary Prayer.

Ms. Pickering also sang with the Mashpee Singing Seniors at the senior center.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her children and their spouses, Amy Pickering and Matthew Campbell, Kevin Pickering and Christina Stone Pickering, and Andrew Pickering and Amber Childress Pickering; two grandchildren, Molly and Elliott Campbell; and a brother, Terry Graham.

A funeral Mass will be said on Friday, December 3, at 11 AM at Parish of Christ the King in Mashpee.
