Vanessa Walker, 78, of Mashpee died at home April 15.

She was the widow of Robert A. Walker, who died in June 2018. They were married for 50 years.

The daughter of Stanley and Katherine Pierce, she was a member of the Class of 1961 at Provincetown High School.

Ms. Walker was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Sandwich chapter, in which she had served in the office of worthy matron. She enjoyed gardening and participating in her sewing group, based in Hyannis.

She leaves two children, John N. Walker of Mashpee and Deidre L. Moniz and her husband, Mark A. Moniz, of East Falmouth; a sister, Karoline Clark of The Villages, Florida; a grandson, Logan H. Moniz; and other family.

She was preceded in death by two siblings, Gail Marshall and Nils Pierce; as well as by her parents.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 20, from 4 to 7 PM at Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 74 Algonquin Avenue in Mashpee.

Burial will be Wednesday, April 21, at 11 AM at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
