William R. Taylor Jr., 92, of Mashpee died October 27 at Beth Israel Hospital.

For many years Mr. Taylor served on both the Mashpee Waterways Commission and the Mashpee/Wakeby Lake Management Committee. He also had been Mashpee’s representative on the county dredge committee.

With his wife, Marjorie H. Taylor, he had served as a volunteer planting daffodils in the late 1990s along Mashpee’s roadsides and municipal areas in the fifth annual planting effort of the Beautification Council of Mashpee.

Born in Philadelphia, he spent his youth in Ann Arbor, Michigan; summers were spent in Woods Hole.

During his working career, he lived in Pennsylvania and worked for General Electric and RCA Corporation. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Mashpee and, here, he enjoyed boating and fishing.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his brother, Jim Taylor; and two daughters.

He was predeceased by his son.

There will be no calling hours.

Services will be private.
