William Stanley Dziobecki of Mashpee and Venice, Florida, died on March 25 at his home in Venice. He died on the evening of his 88th birthday.

He was born in Albany, New York, the son of Rita (Hoffman) and William Dziobecki. He enlisted in the US Air Force soon after graduating from high school.

Mr. Dziobecki was stationed at Royal Air Force Bentwaters in England and he met and then married Gwynneth Maude Cracknell in Felixstowe on December 11, 1954.

In his 22 years of military service, he had postings in Europe and Asia—England, Turkey, the Philippines and Thailand—as well as in the United States. During the Vietnam War he was stationed at Korat Royal Thai Air Force Base in northeast Thailand with his son, Richard Dziobecki, from 1971 to 1972.

He retired with the rank of master sergeant.

He leaves three children, Richard Dziobecki, Lindsay Gosling and Rita French; eight grandchildren, Richard Mark Dziobecki, Robert Michael Dziobecki, Reyna Bergmans, Rita Barron, Laura Kenney, Hannah Young, Naomi Young and Carrie Williams; 13 great-grandchildren; and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

A service will be held in Mashpee at a later date, then his ashes will be scattered at Nobska Lighthouse in Falmouth, as were those of his wife.
