My name is Steven Withrow, and I am thrilled and honored to take on the role of managing editor of The Mashpee Enterprise. Regular readers of the Enterprise have likely seen my byline on hundreds of stories over the past four-and-a-half years. Mashpee was my primary beat for my first two years as a reporter here, and although I am a North Falmouth resident, I have come to admire and greatly appreciate Mashpee, its history and its current community. I have spent many hours conversing with Mashpee residents and leaders from town hall to the school district, from the police to the fire rescue department, and from Mashpee Commons to the Community Health Center and beyond.

My reporting team of Ryan Spencer and Lily Hennessy and I, along with our other Enterprise colleagues, are dedicated to bringing you the most accurate and up-to-date local and regional news. We view the weekly newspaper as an ever-evolving forum for conversation among different individuals and groups. Our articles and columns might spark or provide background for conversations among residents and stakeholders in the town. However, to be at our best and most useful, we need your voices in your local paper. We welcome your letters, op-ed columns and ideas for stories and columns, and we want your feedback on how we are doing and what we can do better.

I view this as an ideal time to take a new look at Mashpee, and I have plenty of ideas for how we can make the paper even more vibrant and relevant to your lives.

Please reach out to me at or 508-548-4700, extension 218, with any questions or suggestions.
