Taking It Away

Mashpee’s Anna Carroll and the rest of the Lady Falcons are ready to battle it out in the Division 4 state tournament starting this weekend.

After an autumn’s worth of games, two Mashpee High School athletic teams are left standing as the season transitions into the state playoffs. The MHS football and girls’ soccer teams have both qualified for the MIAA state tournament. The football team will participate in the Division 7 playoffs, while the girls’ soccer team earned a spot in the Division 4 field.

The football team had to win to get into the tourney and ended the regular season at 5-2 overall and took the No. 15 seed in D7. It will hit the road for a big test tonight in Fitchburg against St. Bernard’s. The Bernardians own a 7-1 record and have won their last six-traight games.
