The Falmouth High School girls’ golf team has been the second-best in the Cape and Islands League all season long, and they continued their winning ways on Wednesday, June 2, with a 4-2 win against Nauset. The Clippers’ depth once again helped them pull out a win as they improved to 5-2 overall in their penultimate match of the season.

Alanna Geraghty and Meghan Guidi swept the first flight for the Clippers. Gergahty beat Kiersten Willey, of Nauset, by a one-up score after nine holes of play. Guidi beat Rhyanna Hatch by a score of four-and-one.

In the second flight, Nauset pulled out both matches. Kara Guidi, of Falmouth, fell to Bella Roberts by a score of five-and-two. Kailee Pierce fell to Shayla Flaherty, one down, after a full nine.

In the third flight Falmouth pulled out the match with a sweep of both spots. Number-five player Gina Daggett beat Bailey Smith by a three-and-two score for the third FHS point. The win was rounded out by Kayla Sam Clemente, who beat Megan Dalmay by a count of five-and-four.

FHS also won both tiebreakers. Brigid Murphy won her match four-and-two, and Ciara O’Malley bested her opponent, five-and-four.
