Historically, when Mashpee and Nantucket meet, the game ends in a lopsided win for one side. The two teams bucked that trend on Saturday, September 17, on the island, as the Falcons and Whalers played the closest game ever in the history of the series.

The end result, though, was what most of the end results have been: a Mashpee win. The Falcons improved to 7-3 all-time against the Whalers with a thrilling 29-28, come-from-behind victory at NHS. Mashpee rallied from behind three times and finished the game off by making the biggest plays when it mattered most to secure the victory.
