Already heading to the MIAA tournament, the Mashpee High School boys’ golf team (11-2) has been finishing out the regular season by continuing to post great scores. On Tuesday the Falcons hosted Bourne High at Quashnet Valley Country Club and scored themselves a lopsided win over the Canalmen behind a fantastic round from junior Colin Spencer. The team’s number-one player had five birdies and scored a season-best three-under par to lead the way. He won his match, 8-1, and finished with an eye-popping 42 points in Stableford scoring.
Kyle Puchol played to a draw at the second spot with a round of 44. He earned 21 points. In the third spot Jack Spencer had a round of 37, won his match, 7.5-1.5, and netted 32 points. Casey Fitzgerald had a strong outing in the fourth spot, earning 23 Stableford points while shooting a 43 and winning his match, 6.5-2.5.
Jack Howard lost, 5.5-3.5, despite tying in overall score at the fifth spot with a 52. He earned 11 points. Ross Smith won his match 6-3 and shot a 50, finishing with 12 points. Owen McGovern’s opponent did not finish the match. He shot 52, had the lead in match play and scored 11 points.
