Bella Connects

Mashpee High outfielder Bella Lane conects with a pitch and drives it to the outfield for a hit against Nantucket High on Tuesday afternoon at home.

In their second-to-last game of the season, the Mashpee High softball team ran into a pitcher that was not messing around whatsoever, and Cohasset scored a lopsided win. Behind an outstanding outing from starter Caitlyn Simms, the Skippers powered their way by the Falcons, 15-0, on Wednesday afternoon, May 24.

Simms allowed just two base runners in the game over her five innings of work as she twirled a one-hitter for the Skippers. Jordan Eagan’s second-inning single was the only hit that MHS recorded in the game against the pitcher. Jayden Bryant had a base on balls in the game as well. Simms struck out six Falcons.
