175th Church Anniversary

Morning Indoor Walk

Mural
A mural, loaded with movie and pop culture references, covers the side of a building behind the Lobster Trap restaurant in Bourne. Lobster Trap owner Dave Delancey teamed up with L.A based artist Phil Bourque to create the 50x40 foot painting.

John Miller stands in the back room of his business, J Miller Pictureframer, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Mr. Miller’s daughter has expressed interest in continuing the business once he retires.

Dune Restoration
Students from Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School were busy planting beach grass on the newly reinforced dunes at Wood Neck Beach last Friday. The conservation department and the Friends and Neighbors of Wood Neck Beach are working together to rebuild the beach’s dunes, which, in addition to persistent annual erosion, took a beating in December’s winter storm. Installation of dune fencing began yesterday.

Frans de Waal
Bonobos are a female-dominated and highly sexual species, Frans de Waal told an audience in Woods Hole. Dr. de Waal has observed so much homosexual activity in bonobo societies that he classifies bonobos as bisexual. “For them, having sex is a bit like a handshake,” he said.
