Sandwich Bikeways & Pedestrian Committee is inviting the public to join a Bike Your Park Day ride on September 28.

Bike Your Park Day is a worldwide event that encourages people to explore parks and public lands by bicycle on the same day. Locally, the event is being coordinated by Adventure Cycling Association, a nonprofit bicycling organization.

The event includes bicyclists of any age and skill level. Riders will gather at the park at 1 PM and participants can either ride the park’s paved roads at their leisure, or explore the park’s dirt trails with a Cape Cod chamber of the New England Mountain Biking Associations guide. Depending on the turnout, the mountain bike ride may divide into groups.

Advance registration is free and includes acknowledgment of the bikeday committee’s waiver at http://bit.ly/bikeyourpark18.

In the past two years, over 20,000 people in all 50 states and 10 countries participated in Bike Your Park Day.
