Heritage Museums & Gardens is partnering with the Sandwich schools to host some Halloween family fun. The gardens and galleries at Heritage will be open on Friday, October 22, and Saturday, October 23, between 4:30 to 8:00 PM with Halloween-themed activities.

The two-day event will include a DJ Ooch dance party, scavenger hunt, indoor and outdoor photo opportunities, fire pits, rides on the 1908 Looff carousel, and festive lighting and décor. New elements including the outdoor Halloween PlaySpace and creepy science labs are also planned for the event.

Heritage is partnering with the STEM Academy/Sandwich High School Parent Teacher Student Association (STEM/SHS PTSA), Sandwich Soul, and the SHS Junior & Senior Classes to offer this family-friendly event. Visitors will have an opportunity to increase their support of the student organizations by participating in special ticketed activities. These ticketed activities include activities such as the haunted maze, cake walk, face/hand painting, glitter tattoos, fortune tellers, and glow-in-the-dark games.

Tickets for all these special activities may be purchased the night of the event at each activity, and both cash and credit and debit cards will be accepted. Funds generated from these ticketed activities will support Sandwich Soul’s competition trips, the junior class prom, and Senior Week and graduation activities.

A portion of the proceeds from admission directly support the PTSA general fund’s activities, including the senior scholarship program, student socials, teacher grants, teacher appreciation, and parent guest speakers.

The Sandwich Halloween Festival is a rain or shine event. Visitors are encouraged to dress in costume and wear comfortable footwear to walk to all activities. Transport will also be available to assist those who need help moving around the grounds. Heritage follows current CDC guidelines and encourages all visitors to wear masks when inside buildings and on transport. Staff and volunteers will follow this protocol.

This year’s event will also utilize timed tickets to ensure a smooth, safe, and fun event for everyone. Timed entry slots are available for both nights from 4:30 to 6 PM or 6 to 8 PM. Admission is $5 per person, with children 2 and under free and a maximum of $25 per family.

Advance admission tickets are available on Heritage’s website at heritagemuseumsandgardens.org. Tickets for the special games and opportunities hosted by the STEM/SHS PTSA and student partners can be purchased the night of the event at each activity.
