No one was injured when a dryer started a fire on Lisa Lane on Wednesday, September 11.

Firefighters were called to 6 Lisa Lane in East Sandwich at 1:21 PM when the fire was reported. When they arrived, smoke and flames could be seen coming from the second floor of the home.

Deputy Chief Timothy McMahon called in a second alarm response to the blaze.

The department was able to douse the fire within 30 minutes, and the damage did not extend beyond the second floor of the home. Chief John J. Burke said the estimated damage done by the fire is $50,000.

Sandwich firefighters were assisted at the scene by firefighters from West Barnstable, Bourne, Cotuit, Barnstable, and Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills. Joint Base Cape Cod, Mashpee, and Bourne provided station coverage.

The fire is being investigated by the Sandwich Fire Department.
