Cape Cod Healthcare announced this week that the organization has granted $10,000 to the Sandwich Food Pantry.
“Cape Cod Healthcare is supporting the critical nutritional need of the community through the financial support of local organizations supplying food and ready-made meals to Cape Codders,” the announcement said.
The grant is expected to support more than 400 Sandwich families.
The healthcare organization has recently granted a total of $65,000 to food pantries and meal service programs across Cape Cod.
Included in its grants have been $15,000 to support the Falmouth Service Center food pantry, $15,000 for the Yarmouth Food Pantry, and $25,000 to the Barnstable Public Schools to support its meal program, which provides grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches to children in Barnstable.
“This year, more than ever, we must pay close attention to our community and lead with our hearts,” Cape Cod Healthcare president and CEO Michael K. Lauf said. “Cape Cod Healthcare is supporting food pantries and meal distribution programs to assist in this critical need.”
