A Forestdale man was hospitalized after being attacked by a neighborhood dog last Wednesday, September 25.

Police were called to Tabor Road at 6:02 PM when the man reported that he had been bitten. The man told police that he was familiar with the dog and the dog’s family and did not know why he had been attacked.

The man was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston with bites to his thigh and abdomen.

Police said that animal control was advised of the incident.

Sandwich Animal Control was unable to provide any immediate additional information about the incident.
