Nearly $700 worth of alcohol was stolen from the Sandwich Package Store on Route 6A during last week’s storm.

The owner of the business reported someone broke into the store when the power was out and the store’s alarm was not operational.

He discovered the alcohol was missing last Friday, October 29, at 5:09 PM when doing inventory following the return of power to the area.

He told police he believed the incident happened the previous day and said he did notice the front door was broken, but thought it was from the storm. While inventorying, he observed items had been moved and tipped over inside the store and noted a number of bottles missing.

There are no suspects at this time, and the incident remains under investigation.
