One person has been injured in a car crash involving three vehicles near the former police station on Route 6A in Sandwich.

Police and paramedics were called to the area of 117 Route 6A for a car crash on Saturday, January 11, around 3:45 PM.

One of the cars is reported to have left the scene of the crash before first responders arrived.

A Sandwich firefighter reported over the scanner that there were three patients between the two vehicles that remained on the scene, although he did not expect any of them would be taken to the hospital. After evaluating the people at the scene, it was determined that one person needed to be taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth.

Traffic has been diverted starting near Jarves Street while the crash was cleared.

Further information was not immediately available.
