Police arrested a Mashpee man on drunk-driving charges last Friday, October 25, after he crashed his car into a utility pole.
Police were called to the intersection of Route 130 and Grand Oak Road at 11:22 PM when someone reported the crash. When police arrived, they found damage to a utility pole and a split rail fence but no car.
The vehicle was found a short time later and the operator was identified at Christopher A. Patchin, 49, of Mashpee, police said.
Police said that Mr. Patchin appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and he was given a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed, they said.
Mr. Patchin was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, operating to endanger, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and leaving the scene of property damage.
