A Barnstable man is facing a fentanyl-trafficking charge following a traffic stop on Mid-Cape Highway in Sandwich.

Police said Anthony J. Rose, 57, of Barnstable was a passenger in a car that police stopped on the highway on Tuesday, February 23. During the stop it was discovered that Mr. Rose had five active warrants out of Barnstable District and Superior courts, all for drug offenses.

The vehicle was subsequently searched, resulting in the discovery of 72 grams of fentanyl, police said.

Mr. Rose was arrested and charged with fentanyl trafficking.
