A man changing his shoes while driving caused a chain-reaction crash in a Sandwich parking lot on Tuesday, September 10.

Police were called to the Route 6A parking lot at 8:22 AM. They said that the crash occurred when David Aruda, 41, of Fairhaven was pulling into the parking lot and crashed into a parked vehicle.

The parked vehicle was pushed into a third parked vehicle, which was pushed into another parked vehicle. Mr. Aruda told police that he had been changing his shoes in the car in an effort to save time.

He was found to be at fault for the crash, but was not cited. He was not injured.
