Police arrested a Sandwich man on Monday, September 23, after a traffic stop on Cotuit Road.

An officer said he was driving behind a car on Cotuit Road at 1:17 AM that was crossing the center line. The officer stopped the car and identified the driver as Jeffrey A. Gould, 31, of Sandwich.

During the stop, the officer reported that Mr. Gould had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech and had open can of beer inside the car.

Mr. Gould was given a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed, police said. He was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation.
