A Mashpee man has been charged with driving several young children in his car while under the influence of alcohol on Route 130 on Sunday, October 13.

An officer driving in the area at 6:52 PM reported a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Brian J. Dockery, 36, of Mashpee.

Also inside of the vehicle were three children aged 5, 2, and 1, as well as a dog.

Mr. Dockery presented the officer with an expired license from Colorado and indicated that he did not have an updated license from Massachusetts.

The officer suspected that Mr. Dockery had been drinking and administered a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed, police said.

Police arrested Mr. Dockery and and charged him with operating under the influence of liquor for a second offense, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating under the influence of liquor-child endangerment, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
