NRG’s power plant expansion plans received a unanimous vote of approval from the Cape Cod Commission Thursday, December 1, after presentations and a public hearing about the impact of the project.

The vote wraps up months of effort by the energy company to secure regional approval to add a proposed 350-megawatt natural gas and low-sulfur, oil-fired turbine to the existing Cape Cod Canal-side facility.
