Sandwich Armed Robber

The Sandwich Police Department is looking for this man in connection with an armed robbery.

Police are still looking for information about a man suspected of robbing a Sandwich store the night after Christmas.

The masked man, estimated to be in his 40s, walked into Sandwich Mart and Spirits around 9:45 PM on Saturday, December 26, and pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the cashier. The suspect then ordered the cashier to empty the cash register.

He fled on foot from the scene.

Police called in a K9 unit from the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department to search the area, but the search was unsuccessful.

Over the course of the investigation, police determined that the weapon that was used in the robbery was a plastic replica. Police said the man banged the weapon on the cash register, breaking the weapon. A piece of plastic was left behind when the man fled.

Police have described the man as possibly being in his 40s with dark brown or black hair and a thick build.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect is asked to contact Officer Michael Wood at 508-888-1212.
