A Gully Lane man was arrested on Tuesday, January 4, after police seized nearly 100 grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl from his residence.

Detectives raided the home of Chad M. Martin, 36, at 4:30 PM after a search warrant was executed by the Sandwich Police Department and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office. Police said they recovered an estimated $10,000 worth of drugs and seized an additional $2,800 in cash. Mr. Martin was charged with felony heroin/morphine/opium trafficking offenses. He has been arrested for drug trafficking before, police said.

The search was done after Mr. Martin was seen initiating an alleged drug deal in the parking lot of Stop & Shop on Route 6A on Monday, January 3, police said.

When detectives attempted to approach him, Mr. Martin fled the scene, drove through the Merchant Square lights and took a right on Tupper Road before stopping near Moody Drive at 5:45 PM, police said

During the stop, police found gabapentin, a Class E drug, in his vehicle and arrested and charged him with failing to stop for police, distribution of a Class E drug and failing to signal, police said.

Based on the investigation following Mr. Martin’s arrest, police obtained information that he was a drug dealer and a search warrant was issued for 69 Gully Lane, where he was arrested again and charged with drug trafficking, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
