Student Government Day at Sandwich High School

In this Enterprise file photograph from 2019, Randy Hunt speaks to the students at Sandwich High School about the role of the state Legislature.

Former state Representative Randy Hunt (R-Sandwich) is now a resident of Quincy.

Mr. Hunt announced Wednesday, January 6, that he sold his Sandwich-based accounting practice on December 1 and his Quaker Meetinghouse Road home this week and has relocated to Quincy.

He said he and his wife, Mary, will now relax and “figure out next steps.” Mr. Hunt is 62 years old.

Born in El Paso, Texas, Mr. Hunt was a 22-year resident of Sandwich.

A conservative Republican, Mr. Hunt was elected to the 5th Barnstable District seat on Beacon Hill in 2011 and served until this year, when he opted not to seek reelection.

Prior to being elected to the State House, Mr. Hunt was a member of the town’s finance committee for three years and served two three-year terms as a selectman.

“It was my honor to serve as state representative and our pleasure to be a part of the wonderful Sandwich community,” he said in his announcement.
