Sandwich police are investigating a large gathering of minors at the Carleton Shores Association Beach last Friday, May 22.
Police responded to the beach in East Sandwich at 4:42 PM when multiple people called 911 to report that between 25 and 30 people, estimated to be high school-aged, had gathered at the beach. Callers told police that the people on the beach were intoxicated and partying.
Several of the partiers were reported to be yelling at other people on the beach.
Before police arrived, members of the group were seen burying drink cans in the sand. They then left the beach in multiple cars.
Police identified one member of the group, a 20-year-old Sandwich man, but the man refused to talk about the incident with officers.
Police said no charges have been filed at this time.
