More than 75 residents gathered to celebrate Sunday afternoon in Sandwich Village, one day after Democrat Joseph Biden was declared the winner of his race against President Donald Trump to become the 46th president of the United States.

The jubilant crowd carried handmade signs and waved American flags as they marched from Russell's Corner on Jarves Street to Eaton Veterans Memorial Park in front of town hall.

According to an email invitation that was sent around the morning of the event, the gathering was organized to "celebrate democracy and the will of the people, the climate, diversity and care for all."
