A tree fell on a home on Jarves Street in Sandwich as a result of the storm.

Hundreds of people on the Upper Cape are without power Sunday, January 12, due to a windy storm that is has blown down trees, branches, and even a utility pole. 

As of 10 AM, Eversource is reporting that 1,248 Falmouth residents, 83 Bourne residents, and 229 Sandwich residents are without power.

The wind has also caused traffic issues in Sandwich with a utility pole on Route 130 near the Speedway gas station being downed. The Sandwich Fire Department said that traffic will be diverted until the pole is replaced.

A home on Jarves Street in Sandwich Village was damaged when the wind knocked a tree on top of it.

The fire department said that the winds are expected to die down this afternoon and that they have staffed Stations 1 and 3 with additional personnel.
